Join us for a unique and inspiring half-day event that combines community, culture, and creativity in the fight against plastic pollution!
About the Event
Immerse yourself in the heart of Cypriot village life for a special morning dedicated to sustainable living. This event begins with a warm and social Women Cypriots Brunch, offering a chance to connect with local community members over traditional flavors and conversation.
Following the brunch, we will move to the innovative Precious Plastic Space for a hands-on recycling workshop. This is your opportunity to roll up your sleeves and see firsthand how plastic waste is transformed into valuable new objects.
What You Will Experience:
Community & Cuisine: Start your day with a delightful brunch, celebrating local Cypriot culture and the vibrant women who are leaders in sustainability and community building.
Behind-the-Scenes Insight: The passionate Precious Plastic Cyprus team will guide you through their entire process. Learn how they collect local plastic waste, shred it into raw material, and give it a new life.
Hands-On Workshop: Get creative! Under expert guidance, you will learn how to use specialized machines to work with shredded plastic. You’ll have the chance to create a small, unique souvenir to take home, understanding the full journey from bottle to product.
Make a Difference: Leave not just with a new creation, but with the knowledge and inspiration to reduce plastic waste in your own life and community.

About The Main Partner
Opu Collective
is The Organization for Positive Urbanism (OPU) is a non-profit organisation based in Nicosia, Cyprus. OPU was founded in response to the climate crisis and the impact of the built environment on current environmental and social challenges.
OPU focuses on awareness campaigns on urban matters, which involves disseminating information, tactical urbanism interventions, workshops, and social events. As well as highlighting spatial opportunities and empowering the public with relevant skills, and providing a space where urban ideas can thrive and materialize.
Moreover, OPU has been involved as a consultant for a wide range of urban matters in the context of Nicosia, such as the cycling infrastructure, the enhancement of the connectivity of the city centre, and the redesign of the Venetian moat as a people-centric space.
